This year long course will equip you with the toolkit for writing a collection of short stories, examing a broad spectrum of work and ideas from Edgar Allan Poe to Katherine Mansfield. We will look at the traditions of the form and experiment with how to break them. By the end of the year you will have a small collection of short stories ready to submit for publication and one will be selected for publication online in the OSP Review, by our in-house editor, Alexis Thompson.

This is a year-long, weekly course, leaving you with a finished collection of short stories, having refined your ideas. Each assignment will be discussed or annotated, depending on your preference. Based on her fiction wrting experience, Kirsten Norrie will guide you through the process.

This is an online course. When you choose to buy this course, we will contact you after purchase to arrange a time to begin which suits you. You can choose between annotated responses to your poems sent to you via email, or live discussion via google hangouts (a gmail email is free and easy to sign up for).
